Insiders have revealed that the kidnappers who abducted Margaret Emefiele, wife to Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, are demanding N1.5billion for her release.
A source with an intimate understanding of the delicate saga told SR that the kidnappers have made contacts with Emefiele's family and they demanded such huge amount as ransom.
Mrs. Emefiele was abducted yesterday along Benin-Agbor Road. In addition to Mrs. Emefiele, four other persons were abducted, including two other females, a male, and her driver.
It has also been learned that Mrs Emefiele had a four-man police detail attached to her. But when the policemen were faced with the superior firepower of the dreaded kidnappers they ran away, leaving Emefiele's wife and the other victims in the hands of the criminals.
