The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, has told Bukola Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, to stop being sentimental and leave National Assembly out of their court trials.
The SGF faulted statements credited to the two leaders of the Senate after their arraignment, which he said gave the erroneous impression that the entire Senate was on trial.
He said: “It is important to emphasise that this case involved only the four accused persons and should not be presented to the unsuspecting public as involving the entire Senate.
“The complaint leading to the forgery investigation was reported to the Police by some aggrieved Senators, who specifically accused certain persons. It is not the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria that is involved and definitely not the House of Representatives.”
Lawal continued: “A case of forgery is usually preferred against individuals as was the case with a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, who was accused of certificate forgery. What he did was to resign, honourably.”

But Saraki and Ekweremadu are not ready to resign. The senate is like their last card.
They should resign if they have some dignity
ReplyDeleteSimple...resign,is not der birthright
ReplyDeleteI don't understand this country at all. People were charged to court for forgery and they are crying to international community that they are being witch-hunted. International community that knows about their escapades in corruption and forgery! I believe if they didn't carry out the forgery court will free them but if they did carry it out Gashua prison will be the best place of abode for the duo.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, the best advice for them they should resign both to spear their rest deginity.
ReplyDeleteThat's jst the best to do
ReplyDeleteThey will face the consequences of not resign honourably. They are just selfish people
ReplyDeleteGreed and selfish will never let them resign
ReplyDeleteThese two people have no dignity, they believe they are above the law. What kind of example are you both showing Nigerian? Both should resign immediately.
ReplyDeleteLeft to ekweremadu, he never had any game plan before the inauguration of the 8th Senate, he just wanted to be a senator since his party lost at the centre. When the Ilorin mesujamba boy offered him that position, hey, what a blessing. Whether him or Saraki, in every game in life, you either win or lose. They have lost and should stop blaming Buhari for their woes, for Saraki, politically it's over, ekweremadu should learn a big lesson that the reason why white men don't play basketball is not because they don't want to, but they know it's a very very physically demanding game which they can not compete uncomfortably well.
ReplyDeleteI believe they don't need anyone to advice them before they resign, their time is up.
ReplyDeleteD ought 2 have resigned or step down till d case is over,
