I observed some folks on Twitter saying the Ooni of Ife has watched too much Mount Zion movies and that is why he's not worshiping "the gods" as was expected of him. I was wondering what the Ooni had said to have warranted such talks from such young guys, some of them not even Yoruba.
Well, the Ooni of Ife sang a special number at a Church Service recently, and it goes thus: "I have a father and he will never ever fail me...Jesus is my father, he will never fail me, rock of ages, never ever fails..."
So what's wrong with that? The Ooni is at liberty to dedicate himself to Jesus.
Some folks are just fools.
ReplyDeleteWell I see nothing wrong in this song. Am a muslim and I love jesus a lot because he is one of Allah messengers

ReplyDeleteThank God,dis is a good news. I was in a crusade in Ile oluji where d King of ile oluji openly declare Jesus as his Lord and saviour. Dis should make pple rejoice nt criticizing him. Ride on Ooni, God will grant u d grace 2 stand strong in faith
ReplyDeleteY ar they angry.nawa oo
ReplyDeleteOnly God knows the sincere worshippers.
ReplyDeleteI see nothing wrong in the OONI'S declaration. The young people should even be happy and rest assured that they are safe in His hands.
ReplyDeleteThey need to work together with in the peace of Christians Jesus as he alone is the ULTIMATE RIVER OF THE WORK and will continually guide the OONi through all his decisions.
ReplyDeleteONE WITH GOD IS A MAJORITY. CARRY ON MY ABLE KING. YOU HAVE MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE AND HE WILL GRANT YOU WISDOM TO YOUR PROPERTY JUST LIFE HE DID TO SOLOMON. AMEN
ReplyDeleteJesus is every bodies father. there is nothing wrong with his song.
ReplyDeletePeople will always talk anything u do right or wrong.
ReplyDeleteThat's why some of these boys will die in ignorance. Because they don't know that the Jesus Ooni accepted openly is greater than all the gods of universe combined together. Ooni knows that he can only succeed with Jesus Christ that is why he is celebrating Him openly
ReplyDeleteOba Ogunwuusi is correct and maybe factual. These days, we have learnt that being installed as an Oba in yorubaland no longer requires those rituals which could make mere mortals freak out. The new generation Obas simply dole out the 'almighty dollar' to the Afobajes. And, bingo, no more 'frightening' rituals whilst in 'Ipebi' cause the dollar now speaks. The Oba-elect can have his bible or koran now, whilst in 'Ipebi' if he so desires.
ReplyDeleteLol.......very funny to me......those who are angry should go and hug a transformer then.
ReplyDeleteso many 'I too know' among youths of today. No common sense!
ReplyDelete#Olu,can you see?
