Halima Abubakar Stirs Controversy About Marriage

Some say she's right, others say she doesn't know what she's saying. But I think she made very good points here. Marriage is more spiritual than physical, those who fail to realize this often suffer for it.

Below is a brief except from a chat Encomium had with actress Halima Abubakar:

You had said you’re not interested in marriage any longer. Why did you concluded on that?
Yes, because marriage has been overrated. It’s unnecessarily over rated. It’s just too much of headache with how things are now. Even ordinary relationship is a huge burden, huge headache and heartbreaking, let alone marriage. When you can’t stand each other as boyfriend and girlfriend, how would you live together under the same roof when you get married?

People need to know themselves seriously. When I say seriously, I mean spiritually before getting married. People only know themselves physically, not spiritually, so they end up getting bored with each other. And they will say they don’t want to get divorce because of what society would say after investing so much on the marriage.

- Any marriage where prayer is absent is just living on borrowed time, it can't stand the test of time.

  1. She said the truth. Every relationship that lacks spirituality will always end up in dustbin of history. Unfortunately what young people are looking for now is just the physical which is only vainglorious and that's why many marriages are in turmoil. Until humanity begin to seek the face of God in relationship they won't go far and life is never complete without a n help mate. We should always remember old age

  3. Well for my own point of view a successful marriage is built base on prayer and understanding one another and base on every party knowing his stand cos that's why our parents marriages succeeded unlike the marriages of nowadays with woman claiming equal right with man
