Battle for the Kogi State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket thickens, as supporters of the gladiators, James Faleke and Yahaya Bello clash at the party’s secretariat in Abuja on Monday.
As at the time of reporting, the party’s National Working Committee members, reporters and visitors at the APC national secretariat in Abuja have been held hostage by feuding youths.
Faleke was the running mate to late Prince Abubakar Audu and wants the INEC to declare him winner of the governorship election.
The INEC had declared the November 21 election inconclusive, saying that the margin in the number of votes garnered by the APC’s candidate, late Abubakar Audu and the runner-up, the candidate of the PDP and the incumbent Governor, Captain Idris Wada, was less than the number of votes cancelled.
Bello is being pushed by some leaders of the party to take the governorship ticket, having taken part in all processes during the primaries of the party.
Some of the feuding youths are brandishing weapons against themselves.
