In the heart of Lagos, where chaos dances with dreams, lies a quiet compound of six flats. Ordinary to the eye observing from across the street… but extraordinary for two souls who refuse to bow to compromise — Amaka and Adeleke.

π¬ INT. GENUINE BELIEVERS ASSEMBLY - SUNDAY MORNING
Soft organ music plays. The congregation hums quietly. Camera pans across faces of worshippers — some smiling, others deep in thought.
NARRATOR (V.O.)
In a city where truth is sold cheaply, two souls stood firm. Today, the shepherd calls them out, not for rebuke, but for honor.
CAMERA slowly pushes toward the pulpit where Pastor Olu, regal in his signature fitted up-and-down attire, grips the microphone.
PASTOR OLU
Brethren, it's important for us to celebrate those who stand for righteousness in the face of temptation. The world we live in today is so corrupt, so we must encourage those who intentionally do the right thing. Sister Amaka, Brother Adeleke — please come forward.
Camera follows Amaka and Adeleke as they walk from opposite aisles, meeting at the front. Applause fills the room.
NARRATOR (V.O.)
Every public praise draws private whispers.
π¬ EXT. MAMA PEACE’S FRONT YARD - LATER THAT DAY
Chickens clucking, distant radio highlife music. Camera pushes in on Mama Peace gossiping with two women, her hands busy shelling groundnuts.
MAMA PEACE
Mark my words, those two - I'm talking about the Judge, Amaka and that Officer Adeleke, are not as holy as they pretend. Always together in court and police station? Hmmm…
WOMAN 1
Hmmm, Mama Peace, you have started again. Always saying things that you can't show proof for or defend if you're called.
The women chuckle, leaning closer. Camera tilts up to the sky, transitioning into the next scene.
NARRATOR (V.O.)
The higher the light, the longer the shadow it casts.
π¬ INT. POLICE STATION - ADELEKE’S OFFICE - AFTERNOON
Phones ringing, distant typewriter clacking. Camera over Adeleke's shoulder as he reviews case files. Door creaks open.
DSP SALAMI (smiling coldly)
Officer Adeleke, headquarters wants to see you. They said you should come now, and go with your beret.
NARRATOR (V.O.)
Some enemies do not fight in the open. They strike from behind desks.
π¬ INT. INTERNAL AFFAIRS ROOM
Fluorescent light flickers. Camera slowly circles Adeleke as two officers present documents.
OFFICER 1
We received a complaint — and it concerns you. The allegation is that you tampered with evidence in the Ajala case.
Adeleke’s brow furrows.
ADELEKE
Me!? Why would I do such a thing? Sir, that is a fat lie. I demand, sorry sir, I request that you check the case log. I'm innocent.
π️ MONTAGE - OFFICE TENSION
* Internal Affairs reviewing CCTV footage.
* Forensic team confirming Adeleke's paperwork.
* DSP Salami pacing in his office, sweat forming on his temple.
π¬ INT. POLICE HQ - MAIN HALL - DAY
Applause and chatter. Camera follows the Commissioner as he pins a new badge on Adeleke’s uniform.
COMMISSIONER
DSP Adeleke, for your exemplary conduct under scrutiny, you are hereby promoted to the rank of a confirmed Superintendent of Police.
ADELEKE
Thank you so much, sir. I promise never to let you or the Police Force down.
Cut to DSP Salami in the background, face tight with regret.
NARRATOR (V.O.)
In the court of truth, lies are self-condemned.
