Newlywed Couple Die On Way To Their Honeymoon After Wife Fell Asleep While Driving

A newlywed couple from Utah, USA, were killed in a car crash after the bride fell asleep at the wheel while driving to their Canadian honeymoon on Sunday night.

Amy Moffat, 28, and 30-year-old Stephen Graham were heading to Whistler, British Columbia, to enjoy their honeymoon when the tragedy happened...

According to Washington State Patrol officers, Moffat fell asleep at the wheel at approximately 7.30pm near Yakima, Washington.

One of their friends was driving behind them and watched as their vehicle flipped over.

'When the truck went into its first roll, it lifted off the ground and was high enough where both the passenger and I had to look up through the windshield to see the truck above us, and then I slowed down just in time because it landed right in our path,' Spencer Luczak, a close friend of the couple, explained to Fox 13.

Luczak rushed over to the pair but knew almost immediately they had not survived the crash.

'When I got to them, I knew right away they were gone,' he added.

Both Moffat and Graham were pronounced dead at the scene. They were both said to have had on their seat belts.

Their families have been devastated by the news, sharing that the couple had just gotten married a few weeks ago and were so madly in love.

'You could just see the twinkle in her eye, the smile in her face. It was the happiest I've seen her in years,' asserted Moffat's uncle, Rex Bosen.

The sentiment was shared by Luczak who said of Graham: 'Stephen waited his whole life to meet someone like Amy.'

Aubree Bosen, Moffat's cousin, said that the couple's death is only sweetened by the fact that they were together during their final moments.

'It's really hard because you want so much for them, but I think the fact that they were together, and they were happy, and they were going on an adventure, it summarizes their life together,' she said. 'I think they're still on an adventure together and it's just not what they planned.'

Luczak holds onto similar feelings as well, stating that he watched them live and die together.

'I watched them live together, I watched them ride bikes together, smile together, and laugh, and I watched them die together,' he shared. 'But they went hand in hand through the veil and that gives me reassurance that they're still together.'

Graham's Facebook states that he was a photographer while Moffat was a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner.
