Reactions have continue to trail the transfer of the founder of the Adoration Ministries, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, to a new parish by the Enugu Catholic Diocese.
Mbaka was moved from the Christ the King Parish, G.R.A, in Enugu metropolis, which he presided over as parish priest for over 20 years, to Our Lady Parish, in Emene, a suburb of the Coal City.
Who is trying to punish Father Mbaka?
After being a parish priest for over 20 years, he will now serve as an assistant priest in the new parish.
In a statement on Sunday, Mr. Osita Okechukwu, who is the APC South-East Caucus spokesman, said “it was wrong to punish the fearless priest for his prophecies which has proved to be from God”.

Okechukwu alleged that the transfer was influenced by outside forces.
The South-East APC spokesman expressed concerns over Mbaka’s safety, adding that his followers may find it difficult to get to Emene for programmes of the Adoration Ministry.
He said, “Whereas we accept that the transfer of priests is a routine exercise of the great Catholic Church, however we do not wholly accept a situation where the church allows external forces to influence transfer as the Mbaka’s case suggests.
“Otherwise, future liberation clergy who speak truth to power will be hamstrung to the detriment of the society. We frown at anything which will put Fr. Mbaka in harms way or deny his flocks healing.”
He continued, “We are still at a loss why a senior priest will be degraded to an assistant parish priest. We repeat that we are in solidarity with Fr. Mbaka and our major concern is the security of Fr. Mbaka and the suffering of his flocks mostly the poor who need healings.
“We had thought that His Lordship Bishop Calistus Onaga could have retained him at the Adoration Ground, as the Bishop Emeritus Gbuji did because of security of his life and easy access by his flocks.”
It was observed that Fr. Mbaka’s followers wept uncontrollably as they escorted him of his new parish.

ReplyDeleteMust Father Mbaka remain a catholic priest when he is serving a God that is greater than all popes of this world put together. He should jettison the Catholics coloration of worship and answer the call of His Heavenly Father. Father Mbaka was given a message for his generation and the Church hierarchy is punishing him because they are in the flesh and out share envy. Mbaka should leave Catholicism and free himself for God to make use of him without hindrance.

ReplyDeleteI'm a catholic and i can confirm that it's a norm for priests to be transferred but it's unsual that a parish priest of more than a decade will be demoted to an assistant parish priest.

Igbos hate anything pro-buhari and we should note that 90% Catholic are Igbo. When he was pro-gej, no one came up with transfer saga but when he rebuked Jonah and his cohorts, then they came up with transfer. And it's not even a transfer to head a parish, but to be an assistant.

Say the truth and face the consequence, I believe Fr Mbaka is aware of that.
ReplyDeletePeople should divorce religion from politics and vice-versa. The Reverend Mbaka as a man of God should know God can use him anywhere. His gift is needed somewhere else and he has 'stayed too long (in his present location). God scattered the disciples when they did not want to leave Jerusalem after the ascension of Jesus Christ. People were scattered at Babel when they decided to remain stagnant. This move may be for the good of humanity which the priest vowed to serve. I wish him and the Church well.
